16 DAY KIMBERLEY 4WD TOUR ITINERARY
Day 1: Broome to Napier range
Your Kimberley adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your accommodation in Broome by your experienced guide. Our journey starts with a drive from Broome to Derby, where we visit the ancient Boab Prison Tree, estimated to be around 1000 years old.
Next, we proceed to the Mowanjum Art Gallery to immerse ourselves in the rich indigenous culture of the area. In the afternoon, we head to Windjana Gorge for a scenic walk, taking in the stunning landscapes and wildlife. A short drive then takes us to our specially arranged remote accommodation for the night.

Tonight will be your first night at our comfortable bush camp. Enjoy the convenience of provided bedding, including pillows, sheets and a duvet, ensuring a restful sleep. If you require extra linen, fewer pillows, ect please let our friendly staff know. We strive to make your outback camping adventure as comfortable as possible.

Day 2: Napier range to Larawa Station
Awake to the serenity of our remote bush camp and get ready for an exciting day ahead! We start with an early morning adventure into the awe-inspiring Tunnel Creek. This 350-million-year-old natural tunnel, carved through the ancient Devonian reef system by the Lennard River, offers a unique exploration of Western Australia's hidden geological wonders.
After experiencing the ancient beauty of Tunnel Creek, we journey along the Great Northern Highway to the picturesque Larawa Station. Here, you'll enjoy a magical evening under the vast outback sky, with the stars shining brighter than ever.

Night 2: Your comfort and satisfaction are our top priorities. Whether you choose the Starlight Hotel or camping style, you will enjoy the unique atmosphere of Bush Camping. Day 3: larawa Station to Purnululu National Park (bungle, bungle’s)
Today we set out for the world heritage-listed Purnululu National Park, starting with a drive through the historic Halls Creek town site. The morning involves a moderate highway drive, followed by a challenging but scenic three-hour journey on the 53 km track into the National Park.

Be prepared for a day filled with driving, so comfortable clothes are a must. By now, you should be accustomed to the pace of our tours; we don't sugarcoat the experience, but we ensure it's as enjoyable and authentic as possible.
The nighttime silence in the National Park is truly unforgettable. Due to park regulations, we are unable to have campfires, and generators have a curfew, allowing you to fully appreciate the tranquility of the outback.

Note, no campfires are allowed in Purnululu NP due to the World Heritage, and National Park status.
Day 4: Purnululu National Park
Spend a whole day immersed in the beauty of Purnululu National Park. Start with a stunning sunrise and an early morning walk, followed by an unforgettable 15-minute helicopter experience over the iconic beehive domes. After lunch, we head to the north side of the park to explore the amazing Echidna Chasm. The day ends with a special evening watching the sunset.

The second night at the same campsite ensures a relaxed and comfortable timetable for everyone to enjoy.

Day 5: purnululu National Park to Bush camp* Via Lake Argyle
This morning we wake up with the birds and embark on the early morning Adventure back to the highway to continue our experience. Heading out of the park proved to be yet another amazing experience, as we travel north, passing the famous Bow River and Argyle Donna mine as we head towards Kununurra. Today truly is another amazing day before making our way to yet another special private bush camp arrangement.

Tonight, enjoy a real bush camp experience, utilizing a campfire to cook and offering the full outback experience.

Day 6: bush Camp to Kununurra
Today is an iconic sightseeing day as we make our way from Lake Argyle. Our first stop is the Ord River irrigation scheme, an inspirational development built in the 1960s. We then pass by the impressive Lake Argyle Dam wall ad overflow on our way to our night in Kununura. Arriving at kununnurra in time for lunch you'll have ample opportunities for breathtaking photographs and unique experiences, and and Order River Cruise for the afternoon

Tonight's camp is seasonally dependent. Regardless of the location, it will be spectacular, offering another night under the stars. The marvel of Lake Argyle is not to be underestimated, and time at the lake is well spent.

One night in Kununnurra and a unique food experience
Day 7: Kununurra to El Questro Main Station
Prepare for an exciting and adventurous day as we embark on our journey to the iconic El Questro Station. We begin with an early morning start, setting off to explore some of the Kimberley's most breathtaking landscapes. Our first highlight of the day is the stunning Five Rivers Lookout, where you'll be treated to panoramic views of the confluence of five mighty rivers—perfect for capturing unforgettable photographs.
As we continue our journey, we'll make a stop at an iconic location that has thrived thanks to the Ord River irrigation scheme. This stop will give you a glimpse into the remarkable transformations this scheme has brought to the region, turning arid landscapes into a flourishing oasis.
Although today is primarily a travel day, it's filled with opportunities for short walks and exploration. Comfortable clothes and sturdy footwear are essential as we venture into these scenic spots.

While staying at El Questro, we will be around their main station area. Over the next few days, there will also be opportunities for washing and downtime.

Get ready for an exhilarating day as your guide leads you on an extraordinary adventure around the iconic El Questro Station. Depending on the season and weather conditions, you'll embark on at least one medium to hard grade walk, exploring breathtaking spots like Emma Gorge or Amalia Gorge.
After the challenging hikes, reward yourself with a refreshing swim in one of the many spots along the river, or spend your afternoon relaxing at the station area, visiting the local all while soaking in the natural beauty and serene atmosphere of this remarkable location.

Day 9: El questro Main Station to Ellenbrae station
Start your day with a gentle wake-up call, followed by a serene morning river cruise on the Chamberlain River. As we continue our journey along the famous Gibb River Road, we'll cross iconic rivers such as the Pentecost and the Durack. These river crossings add a touch of adventure to our day, showcasing the rugged beauty of the Kimberley.
Our journey is not without its challenges, as we navigate the rough roads and the Pinnacles River crossing, but each moment is filled with excitement and awe. In the evening, we'll arrive at the charming Ellenbrae Homestead, where a special evening awaits you.

Day 10: ellenbrae station to Mitchell Falls
Rise with the birds and start your day with a beautiful breakfast. Today, we tackle the most challenging section of the Gibb River Road as we make our way towards the stunning Mitchell Falls. Our first stop is the Gibb River Crossing, where we pause to take in the rugged beauty of the area. We then continue to Munurru, where you can admire ancient rock art and enjoy a refreshing swim before lunch.
After lunch, we head towards the Mitchell Falls area, known as Ngauwudu. This drive is truly special, taking you through a myriad of different ecosystems that remain largely untouched by modern society.

Camping this far north, close to the river system, there is the possibility of mosquitoes, but the Location is just magnificent. Drinking, sufficient water is very important. In these northern reaches, your guide will be insuring adequate hydration.

Day 11: Mitchell Falls walk (Morning)
Today, we start early to beat the heat as we embark on the 3.5 km walk along the Mitchell Falls track to the breathtaking Punamii-Unpuu (Mitchell Falls). Along the way, you'll encounter remarkable examples of Aboriginal rock art and enjoy a refreshing swim at the top of the falls. Afterward, experience a complimentary scenic helicopter ride back to the car park, allowing you to take in the stunning landscape from above, before spending a relaxing afternoon at camp.

Day 12: Mitchell Falls to Mt Barnett station
Today, we bid farewell to the breathtaking Mitchell Plateau (Ngauwudu) and embark on an adventurous journey back to the Gibb River Road. As we drive, you'll witness a dramatic change of scenery, culminating in our first view of the awe-inspiring Wunaamin Miliwundi Ranges (formerly the Leopold Range). The rugged beauty of these ranges is sure to captivate you as we travel along.
Our destination for the evening is Mt Barnett Station, where we'll enjoy a refreshing swim and prepare for the exciting adventures of the following day.

Day 13: Mt Barnett station to Adcock Gorge
Today is all about walking, swimming, and exploring the stunning natural beauty of the Kimberley. We start with the exhilarating 6 km return walk to Manning Gorge, where you can take a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters. After this invigorating hike, we take short drives to the picturesque Galvins Gorge and Adcock Gorge for more swimming and exploration.
We recommend staying in your swimwear all day, as the spectacular gorges offer some of the best swimming spots in the region.

By now, you'll have realized that "bush camp" is a modest term for how incredible our camp setups truly are. Today is all about exploring the breathtaking areas of the Kimberley, with your guide using their expert knowledge to choose the best spots for the day's adventures. We love to keep this day flexible, allowing you to experience the true spirit of adventure in this remarkable region.
Our journey stops at the stunning location Mornington Wilderness camp , where you can take a refreshing swim among other activities. The day’s itinerary will be discussed with your guide, who will tailor the plan to ensure the most enjoyable and memorable experience.

Today, while not doing so many kilometres, there really is an endless opportunity when it comes to you arriving at our final destination from swimming to birdwatching the day will prove to be very special.

Day 15: bush camp to Mt Hart wilderness lodge
Today, we embark on a scenic drive that, while not overly long, is filled with breathtaking views. Along the way, we'll stop at the stunning Bell Gorge, where you can take in the spectacular waterfalls and perhaps enjoy a refreshing swim.
As we continue our journey to Mt Hart Wilderness Lodge, you'll be captivated by the rugged beauty of the Kimberley. Upon arrival, you'll be warmly greeted by the staff on the property and taken on an exciting afternoon adventure to explore the surrounding wilderness.

Gorge is a moderately challenging walk to the waterfall, and then can be quite tricky to get down to the second swimming hole, only for the super adventurous.
This is our last night camping, offering a perfect opportunity to reminisce around the campfire and enjoy one final evening under the stars.

Day 16: Mt hart to broome
Today marks our last day together as we complete our journey from Mt Hart Wilderness Lodge back to Broome. The day promises the best surprise of the trip, ensuring a memorable conclusion to our adventure. Upon arrival in Broome, you have the option to join us for a final dinner together, with the location based on availability.

The final day is a time for reflection on the incredible experiences we've shared. Upon returning to Broome, we will drop you off at your preferred accommodation. Later, we'll pick you up for our optional farewell dinner, where we can reminisce about the journey and celebrate the friendships formed.
