10 Day Perth to Exmouth, via Karijini National Park Expedition Tour

Come on a truly remarkable expedition across the West Coast of Australia, from Perth to Exmouth via some of our great states best national parks. From Kalbarri National Park to Shark Bay world Heritage listed area, François Perron National Park. Up the coast and then inland to the timeless Karijini National Park.

This tour is for the true adventure who wants to really understand how big the great expanse of Western Australia is.

  • Depart Perth in the morning and travel north along the Coral Coast. Visit the Pinnacles Desert in Nambung National Park, walking among the ancient limestone formations before continuing to Cervantes for lunch and the opportunity to sample local Western Australian rock lobster. Continue north through the Mid West to a unique campsite near Geraldton settling in for the first night under the stars.

  • Travel north to Kalbarri National Park for short walks to Nature’s Window and the Murchison River gorges (approximately 5 km of walking). After exploring the park, continue through the Mid West with a stop at Billabong Roadhouse before arriving in the Shark Bay World Heritage Area. Visit the famous Shell Beach and settle into a secluded coastal bush camp for the evening.

  • Early morning departure to Monkey Mia to experience sunrise and the famous bottlenose dolphin interaction. Spend the day exploring the bays and coastline of the Shark Bay region before travelling into François Peron National Park, known for its striking red cliffs and turquoise waters. Bush camp within the national park with time for beach walks and fishing.

  • Explore more of François Peron National Park, with opportunities for coastal walks, swimming, wildlife viewing, and fishing. Later travel to the seaside town of Denham, the gateway to Shark Bay, with the option for cultural experiences or local exploration. Overnight in the Shark Bay region.

  • A scenic drive north along the Gascoyne and Coral Coast toward the Ningaloo region. Pass through the rugged landscapes of Western Australia’s northwest before arriving at Coral Bay, where the Ningaloo Reef meets the shoreline. Time to relax on the beach, swim, or snorkel directly from the sand in one of Australia’s most accessible reef systems.

  • All day in Coral Bay, choose from a selection of activities offered by your guide. Snorkelling straight off the beach on the Ningaloo world Heritage, reef, or choose a slightly more advertising adventure, like swimming with Mantra rays, or a quad bike adventure. Your tour guide will go over these options with you on day one.

  • Depart the coast and travel inland through the Pilbara region, passing mining towns and iron ore operations along the way. Enter Karijini National Park, one of Australia’s most spectacular national parks, located among the ancient landscapes of the Hamersley Range.

  • A full day exploring the dramatic gorges, waterfalls, and swimming holes of Karijini. Walk through Dales Gorge, visiting Fortescue Falls and Fern Pool, with opportunities for swimming and hiking among the 2.5-billion-year-old rock formations. Additional gorge walks such as Joffre Gorge or Hancock Gorge may also be explored.

  • Continue exploring Karijini’s iconic landscapes, including Weano Gorge and Hancock Gorge, famous for their narrow rock passages and emerald pools. Many of the walks include swimming sections and adventurous gorge routes before returning to camp for a relaxed evening in the national park.

  • Depart Karijini and travel back toward the coast, crossing the vast Pilbara landscapes before reaching the Ningaloo Coast. Arrive in Exmouth in the afternoon where the tour concludes with drop-off at pre-arranged accommodation.
